The Higher the Magnification - The More Detail You'll See

Magnification is the ability of your microscope to make small objects seem larger. As the magnification increases the area being viewed will be decrease is size but the detail of the area being viewed will improve.

Amscope microscopes come with multiple magnifications to aid you in finding the proper magnification for viewing each specimen.

Camera Connection Types

When comparing 2.0 and 3.0 there are few major differences. First the transfer rates. USB 2.0 offers transfer rates of 480 Mbps and USB 3.0 offers transfer rates of 4.8 Gbps - that's 10 times faster.

Camera Resolution

The most important factor in ensuring successful microscopic imaging is choosing the appropriate optics and camera for your application that gives you more data and higher image quality. When selecting a microscope camera, it is best to base your decision on the most important requirements for your microscopic observation.

Key Features

  • 40X to 2000X magnification range for studying a range of specimens including hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. 10X and 20X eyepieces provide 8 unique magnification settings.
  • An entry-level biological compound microscope with a simplified traditional layout which is beneficial for students and other first-time users.
  • The binocular head can be easily customized for multiple users, and has a 45° incline for viewing while seated or standing.
  • A mechanical caliper can be attached to the stage for precise movement of slides at high magnifications.
  • Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 0.3MP digital eyepiece camera. Professional microscopy software for Windows, Mac, and Linux provide tools for image processing, measuring, and more.

The B100-MS is an entry-level LED compound microscope which emphasizes high-quality optics over mechanical form. All of the necessary functionality is present in an intuitive form factor which is ideally suited for classroom use. The B100 uses a traditional layout which is beneficial for students and other first-time users.

The binocular head can be customized for each user, with a sliding interpupillary adjuster for varying eye spacing, and diopters for both eyes to fine-tune focus for nearsighted users and for asymmetry. The head can be rotated 360°, and has a 45° incline for viewing while seated or standing. Interchangeable eyepieces allow for an expanded magnification range, or the use of special eyepieces with pointers and measuring reticles.

The objective turret provides instant access to 4 magnification levels to easily focus in on minute details from 40X to 1000X. Additional 20X eyepieces expand the maximum magnification to 2000X with 8 unique levels. This covers magnifications needed for studying hair follicles, cells, and bacteria. These high-quality lenses are achromatically corrected to improve resolution and color accuracy.

The stage is equipped with two clips for holding slides and other specimens in place. Additionally, a mechanical caliper is included to provide more precise positioning of specimen slides when using high magnifications. The microscope uses independent focus knobs to control coarse and fine adjustments. An adjustable limit-stop mechanism can be used to prevent the lenses from making contact with specimens, preventing damage to the lenses and glass slides.

The LED light-source produces a warmer light which is less fatiguing for the eyes, as well as evenly rendering all colors. A rotating Abbe condenser controls the amount of light and contrast.

Monitor and capture photos and videos with the included 1MP digital eyepiece camera. The compact, lightweight camera can be used in place of an eyepiece to watch live images, and to record photos or videos on your computer. This ability to view microscopic images on your computer reduces eye-strain, and allows groups of people to view images at the same time. Our professional software for Windows provides a wide assortment of capture and photo-editing functions including color correction, time-lapse capture, image stitching, and a full complement of measuring tools. A lite version of our software is available for Mac and Linux with essential functionality for capturing photos and videos.
