Surprisingly good quality for the price

I bought a pair of these for my grandchildren (ages 7 and 8) and one for myself. I was surprised at how good it is. With glass lenses and a solid build the microscope is much better than the ones available in the toy shops for the same price.
For a few pounds more there is a set with Amscope branding which has an extra pair of eyepieces for higher magnification, but 20x is good enough, perfect for bugs.
The scope came in a plain box with the bare minimum, no extras, just the scope itself. I don't mind that, though it looks unexciting to the kids as a Christmas gift.
Very happy with it and would recommend it to anyone.

This is a great little stereo microscope, decent zoom range and good resolution. Perfect for introducing children to microscopy. Rating 4 stars as the batteries that came with it were corroded.
